Time flies and I was bored with blogging. Facebook gathered me up in it's arms and whisked me off to quick comments and instant pics.<br />
<br />
Now I am back but I don't know for how long.<br />
My quilting is keeping me busy as I move from making bed covers to art quilts and textiles.<br />
Meet Liberty Bunny, fashioned from tiny scraps of Liberty fabric and stitched and stitched and stitched. My heart fills with joy as the little tufts turn into a creature right before my eyes.<br />

My quilts are different now. More arty and less snuggly.<br />
<br />
This Liberty Rabbit is my latest project, how I wish I could work out what prevents wrinkles amongst the thread sketching. I've used heavy stabilizer, batting, adjusted tension and sewed slowly. My next trick is blocking and stretching onto a frame.<img src="webkit-fake-url://3c75c18c-5460-4269-b03a-f1f10c138b28/imagejpeg" /><img src="webkit-fake-url://682c9f34-e943-4a84-ba61-d577e510825b/imagejpeg" /><img src="webkit-fake-url://af78e17e-982f-4e86-af87-177766a97f1a/imagejpeg" /><img src="webkit-fake-url://b3bba656-dfa6-4019-a5e1-02d9f77cb60d/imagejpeg" /><img src="webkit-fake-url://c37510ed-98d1-40cc-9a4e-8fd4eabd08c3/imagejpeg" /><img src="webkit-fake-url://68036d5e-9f86-4742-b2c0-571231de2b2d/imagejpeg" /><img src="webkit-fake-url://39a2c85b-5de6-420e-a9d8-2bc84348a621/imagejpeg" />Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09276676085194609759noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6929495222109954280.post-12756668953686540592014-09-24T11:59:00.001+08:002014-09-24T11:59:20.183+08:00Just some rambling.<html><body>I don't seem to be blogging much these days but I'm still keeping busy.<br />This morning I put a pot of beans on to boil then took a shower, refreshed and dressed I toddled out to my studio to sew up this sample block for my "Bee".<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj32ezLGOgtktLEjfvrrQ77Ki91tbSC9saNqAL5SfFyy2sIAPu1Q4HZm8Yjnag-dhyphenhyphenP0jQjnSg7_vu-o-EWRffNxVxDAi-DLcEBmg5r3dc_kpmNEwH_K8jSKhjsbETf1mA2fQPotbvsjIs//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div>I had great fun with this gorgeous pattern from Lori Holt and I'm really looking forward to getting 11 more blocks from the Bee group next month. Our middle boy called on Thursday....could he and his family come up for the weekend?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Would I ever say "No"?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The boat came too and while they all went fishing on Saturday, I took a walk </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and did some homework for my photography class.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think the fishing was more successful than the photography.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
These are Dhufish, my very favourite fish to eat and as it sells for around $80 per kilo at the fish shop, we were pretty happy with the three kilos of fillets these guys gave us.</div>

The family arrived for the Easter break and with so many mouths to feed and people to talk to there was no time to sew......except in the middle of the night! So instead of spending my sleepless time reading or listening to the radio I hopped out to my studio and stitched. 3am is a great time to sew.<br />Lots of things finished, including some of my AQC class projects, blocks to be done for swaps and older UFOs.<br />We have the house back to ourselves again and my sewing mojo is still with me. I did write about her here some years ago and she is one of my very favourite people. <br />The bloke and I have come to stay with her for a few days.<br />Tonight there will be a big family barbeque, lots of people, talking and food. Just what a family matriarch would love, sharing her big day with her big family.<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW9ZnX6ho3PsTFMrmGvdFnDREnqu_YpbpTag7qTXDzevyA6mdFCFCNOL2kLJMddYIp37VmggYaVc5owoXmuAHsQGQ89Cb8I_59giM8f4mW33qAxkUBUOUaN8DDZXQuf2WMXUIF1eO8tnc//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />We also had a get together on the weekend.......this big Italian family doesn't all fit in the house at once. This photo shows Nonna surrounded by almost all of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. There is so much love here.<br /><br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJbLk3GkSk3-xYre0Htar9KALq6wqLFD7q8LWg73XTiHDxCARWigTfjdy80-VkQ9MN77Lu9KTNqwEXzvVEyZl2FflrdayP7DiwTUyhXmjNPG5HPm6_TG3UehlzS7O-b45_Ra1SajwXtHg//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />Most days she fills her life with looking after her home and garden, keeping her mind alert with<br />puzzles, sharing meals and coffee with visitors, watching a little tv. <br />On Sundays she makes pasta for the family. It's nothing to find 25 hungry people arrive for spaghetti at Nonna's. <br />I hope today she will rest and let the daughters and daughters-in-law cook and prepare the salads, let the sons and sons-in-law barbeque the meat. Enjoy being looked after for a change.<br />Then I hope the family will all line up for a group photo just like the one above...............<br />Can you imagine how hard it is to get such a big group posed for a photo?<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div></body></html>Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09276676085194609759noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6929495222109954280.post-51583804022820747432013-10-21T15:56:00.001+08:002013-10-21T15:56:50.773+08:00<html><body>Whoosh..........the sound of the past few weeks flying by.<br />School holidays and at some point I agreed to have two of the grandies here for the whole two weeks. This involved a few mornings of tears and tangles at first but we solved the problem with a visit to the hairdresser for Kasey. <br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhoEBPzm20dyBJOep85rhg2Qy9P9Rdi3-H7ZMdRAqdzt__OQC-6D9dWjjga7mqHRRNurtRbfZ_kYIf-YP3y_mUVarWIopXq6M709kVLDUvJve6fyodw4CLHSV6RJPBE9SedkKRgD3F7Vg//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />She is a real girly girl and was just about purring as she sat up in the chair with a special "mermaid" cape on.<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEgJjPn4wUlFvyyJNHA5t_Y7ftt0Qw5pY0XF1wALesq6HHOyRZi0fJovjDyNMyFAtJN0I6jPMbs9Nd71VRp0rV0URQq7r2fsA9-dm-d-wEiRDqQ8xQA5__tg6NuN-T1emMyu0lv6QlrOU//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />A new do and a new hairbrush and the mornings became happy times again.<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixm4GQLz3M3mEx7wU9BTCVAlF2QHIvGIO6xwBEFRmIEgQ-fuaYZeQNpI3BfnRSxQ8M2_szhjgh9uIyjFcTj_BOsz1lFgszzAmMhU7MmNH8cP2EAr_TuCF0NP1GsG146iqMivtfpeafu_0//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />With less time brushing knots out we could spend time making scarecrows for our local quilt show.<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu4xeRhrjYI21sBbPrzk1wyWYl9VNNmFXdsnDiSXEgegix476e97UANDRJKmed674_C-Wh2XDe8g-5T_MhuyGLaZ10xRNZWXk-cziKb9CiXxY5maCgvp04zQGw2tLrWMEXPvfRL42olEE//" align="right"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />During the second week of the holidays the other three grandies arrived so we had plenty of help getting ready for the show, lots of house guests filling the place with laughs. Life is good.<br />Kasey's Mum didn't even growl at me for having her hair cut!<br /><br />Today a friend spoiled me with a huge bag of thick skinned lemons............this only means one thing. LIMONCELLO.<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0miRsyYonevOgluNG5FhnpBOsRJ1dPMX4gSnn2t2UBK7k6S1kXVxb4AuMnJNzjW1Y8v8aREMhmaVQxR4wMglQZtXSYkuLiQSIMLLGYgJM1sf0End3QOwQvx1YNskshrnC5X4iNYC8BFY//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />I can hardly wait.<div style="clear: both;"></div></body></html>Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09276676085194609759noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6929495222109954280.post-81602563882740722702013-08-29T13:36:00.001+08:002013-08-29T13:36:24.372+08:00Oh, to have a Kingdom to Rule!<html><body>Life is pretty quiet at the moment. Small things amuse me.<br />The bloke spent a short time in his shed this morning making this for me.<br /><div style="clear: both;"></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDo9VQirVg1o8u0VB1o98GUUNb9v1nz5WovZfFG30V5w54Fr8mjj_mI3VS3lvaxy9cv8mv63fWEf9mOcE67BJ2V0d0XDyoH9vFaPo23YmBacPIt0S_-SnFBc_VrjSsoIXlZpkfBR8EzbU//" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;"><div style="clear: both;"></div><br />No, not the rulers but the rack to hold them. Another little gadget to help me be tidy.<br /><br />He didn't want to make it, he procrastinated and put it off, hoping i would forget. Years went by, he even found them for sale in quilting shops and encouraged me to buy one. No, not good enough, I wanted an original made with his own fair hands.<br /><br />This one is the best....all my rulers fit nicely, he stained the timber my favourite colour and routered the edge in the nicest pattern. He's such a good bloke, I might have to keep him after all.<div style="clear: both;"></div></body></html>Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09276676085194609759noreply@blogger.com7
