I have so many scraps in various boxes and bags I can hardly move in my sewing room . So I thought I'd do a little scrap busting by making a coin quilt.
My nephew and his wife are expecting their second baby this month, therefore a baby quilt it's going to be.
Out came a few of the boxes and as I have no idea if the new bub is a boy or girl, I stuck to mostly aqua and jade colourings, with a fair bit of orange, some strong pinks, a bit of yellow, a little green, a dash of blue.
The pattern said, "5 rows of 22 rectangles cut 2 1/2 inches by 5".
That's 110 scraps used and it didn't even make a dent!!!
The smaller bits off the edges have gone into a bag to give to a friend who delights in collecting tiny scraps. Still, I can't get the lids closed on all those boxes.
I have a bigger scrap from which to cut the sashing and borders. White background with tiny polka dots in lots of colours and then I think I might make a pieced backing. That should use a few more scraps. Now if I did one of these every day for a few months I just might use up some fabric.

Gosh that quilt's scrappy colours work well! I really should do this with my scraps too. Thanks for the idea!
