Time for a little break from quilting. I'm in a frenzy and have been crouched over the machine like a mad woman finishing UFOs. Only 6 weeks until the "Public Hanging" at the Patch and I have heaps still to finish if I'm going to exhibit all I've planned to.
So this is today's favourite treasure.
A old ladder.
I love this ladder, especially the detailed hinge.
I'm pretty sure it's made of Oregon and I know it's English but that's all I know about it.
In a past life the bloke ran a junk shop, he sold a lot of bric a brac, a few antiques and plenty of collectable hand tools. Sometimes I would be allowed to go with him to auctions, just to act as quality controller of course!
A man with an auction number is a dangerous thing.
This ladder sold for way too much money but what could I do? I was in love.

Yes, the ladder is beautiful and I think many of us would have had trouble not bidding... perfect to hang your quilts over too...

What a lovely way to display treasures as well as being a treasure itself. Auctions are so much fun.
very nice ladder and when it come's to buying old things, price doesn't seem to matter much:)

I can fully understand why the ladder came home. I've never seen one with a hinge like that. It displays your quilt beautifully.

So love and a ladder - perfect combination! Gorgeous with the quilts draped over it, I'm sure it had a productive previous life.
