It's a "HOOT" in Parliament

A group of owls is known as a Parliament. The Barnowls is a bunch of quilters who get together a few times a year in an old converted barn. I guess that means I'm an MP.
Isn't it wonderful to spend time with "The Sisterhood"?
It's been a lovely weekend away with this bunch of like minded women, sewing and laughing.
Most of the exciting events were not recorded.

Not the luscious meals provided by the gorgeous caterers nor the embryo bush fire spreading towards us that woke us all up V. early on Sunday morning.
Not one pic here of the soot smudged and glistening bodies of the "Oh So Handsome Firemen" who arrived to applause from 20 middle aged elderly women in their jammies.
The exquisite work produced by the in house talent didn't make the cut either

There isn't a pic of bloggers,
Bev of Kainga Happenings with Maria of Life on the Block and Sue of Charlottes Cottage (that's moi, of course) But there is one of this most beautiful and cheery Apple Cushion that Bev made for me in a little pre-arranged swap to commemorate our first ever meeting.

There's a pic also of the small projects I managed to poke a needle into once or twice, not completing any of them.

There's one of Di admiring the little quilt of owls we made especially for her because her dear Mum passed away suddenly whilst we were all together at our last retreat.

There are pictures also of the looooong boring drive I took to get to York from Dongara on Friday, all alone and singing along to my cd of trucking songs alternated with brackets of classical music. I do have eclectic tastes.

And now I'm home to the news that the bloke's return will be delayed yet another week.

Hello Sue,

It was so great to meet up with you both. Glad you were all able to admire those firemen, imagine the stories they are telling. A calender would be a great funraiser for your quilt group.
Happy days.
