Tuesday Treasures

This is Clare's last week as hostess of Tuesday Treasures and I thought I'd show you this wonderful treasure.
My dear Mother in Law, Maria or Nonna as we all call her. I am truly blessed to have her in my life.
Nonna lost her mother at just 5 years of age, left school at 10 to care for her family, then married Salvatore in Sicily at 14, had her first baby (the bloke) at 15 and another six babies over the next 20 years.
She works tirelessly often feeding up to 30 people for Sunday night family dinners, cooking the best pasta in the world. She can put the crankiest baby to sleep in moments and always, always has a kind word for everyone.

She does all this with a smile on her face and love in her heart.
She is a true treasure and I love her to bits.

OK, my dear friend!
I think you are cheating : since you are on Tuesday and I am getting ready to sleep my way into my Tuesday. ????? Does that mean that you are technically a day older than me??????? Maybe you are a day older so you can gather a days worth of knowledge and hand it off to me! Because I sure do need it ! :) I know - I'm pooped and when I get pooped I get goofy -maybe that should be :goofier: LOL

It is nice to hear someone being so fond of their mother-in-law, rather than the usual bagging out. She sounds like a marvelous person. You are very lucky to have her in your life.

O, I agree with everyone - what a wonderful treasure Nonna is ! Sometimes in life we seem to get bogged down as we bump into such unhappy people that we forget what wonderful people are really there working in the shadows and affecting every person they touch with love.

What a special lady indeed and how blessed you are to have her as your mother in law!! She certainly did have to grow up at a very young age but it's wonderful to see that it didn't stop her from being a warm and loving person:-) xoxo
