That D@#*ed Elusive Pimpernel

I tried, I really tried to dye a good clear red today.
Scarlet
Fire Engine Red, Pillar Box Red
Lots of mixture, very small pieces of fabric, extra time in the sun.
Plenty of vinegar in the rinse.
I'm sorry Maria
We have some lovely bright colours
BUT
NO RED

Well this gives you an excuse to try again right? At least the ones you did are great looking.

O Yea! I love them all!

Back when my daughter and I ran a ceramic shop I learned that RED is one color to not co-operate at all!

But, just think ? If you had got RED -you would not have all these beautiful colors? Now you just have to come up with these projects? : -)

Maybe no clear true red, but still lots of glorious color.

Love your header photo. Red-red sounds hard to dye - sounds like you need extra strength or something. I have so many lovely fabrics I wouldn't think to try making more!

Love your pincushion. I look forward to seeing how they travel.

Cheers!

Great colours Sue and true red is so subjective anyway so I think that you have got some pretty good ones there.
