Vale Miss Duck

After showing you the pictures of my funny duck sitting on the fence I should have taken note of the fact that her clipped wing needed reclipping!
She flew out of the yard again yesterday and now she is Fox Food!
Nothing left of her but a pile of black and white feathers down on the riverbank. I'm very sad and feeling guilty....if only I'd bothered to clip her wing that day.

O SHOOT!!!!!!!!!!! I sure know EXACTLY how you feel. O my - let's place the blame exactly where it lies - on that rascally fox! But then that is natures way.I keep telling myself that after we all get to heaven Mr. Fox will not have to eat anymore critters and we can all be happy.

But I love that picture you have of her. I still cannot get over a Duck perching! Never in my life!

The last time I lost my ducks it was to our neighbors dogs! they came up the road and killed the ducks as they played in the creek. Do you think he bothered to ask if he could buy me more to replace them ???? NOOOOO!of course not.

It seems there is Always something that wants to eat our birds. In the day time it is Mr. Hawk and at night time Mr. Fox or Mr. Raccoon or Mr. Owl! And let's not forget Dogs that show up where they do not belong.I even had them tear in a heavy duty wire run one time and I wish you could have seen the hole they tore to get in! It was unbelievable!
I firmly believe that Miss Duck knows that you did the very best by her while with you. We have a belief over here that the animals go to the Rainbow Bridge to wait for us to join them when we cross over. It always makes it easier for me.You can look it up online.
