A Retiree

That's what I am now, a retiree.
After a few months of trying to decide whether I wanted more time to enjoy life
OR that nice little pay packet every week,
I had a chat to the bloke.
I mean, if I'm not working he'll have to support my stash habit!
He's never been one to tell me what to do and in his usual style said
"Whatever you think is best".
Grrrrr! I had to make up my own mind.
What to do? What to do?
Well I've done it..............Yesterday was my first free day.
I sewed and played all day.
Today I was just a little restless!
So I've started "Spring Cleaning"
A little late I know
and I'm not going to rush in
this HOUSEWORK habit
but I've cleaned up this shelf in my kitchen
I'm so proud of myself
I might just do another shelf one day!

I retired last December from 32 years of nursing. The key is to keep telling yourself that you can do anything you WANT to. It's really hard to just sit down and read a book in the middle of the day, lol. I love being retired!!

You know I'm really happy for you but please be careful, housework can be detrimental to the health...!! Take lots of photographic/quilty/pleasurable breaks to make sure it (the housework) doesn't become a habit..!! :o)

Congratulations Sue,
I retired in 2003. A friend asked me how long it took to get used to being retired. I told her it took me about 30 minutes home from work that last day and when I got home I was used to it!
Retirement is wonderful...enjoy every minute!

O Sue!
Now EVERY DAY can become a new ADVENTURE!!!!!!!!!!!

I do know that anytime you break a habit (and work is a habit) that it usually takes a spell to shake off the old and put on the new!

But, if you run out of things to keep you busy - you can always come over and do some cleaning for me - so I can SEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

O - but it is almost time for you to start your Morning Swim!!!!!!!
