After months of being in the biggest sewing slump of my life, now I’m all go.go.go.
Angus needs his big boy quilt and super soon! It’s his 3rd birthday in May and I’d started this McKenna Ryan “Once Upon a Star” BoM a while ago and I thought it would be perfect for him if I could just finish it off. The block on the left was done over several years. The one on the right was done yesterday but I still need to machine applique stitch the mistletoe.
There’s plenty more blocks to do but at this rate it’ll be finished in no time.
A friend made this pretty little quilt as a gift and last night at The Patch she asked me if I could quilt it for her.
Today I sat down and scattered it with hearts and swirls in the yummiest soft variegated pink thread. A few straight lines around the border and now its ready to go back to her for binding.
Meanwhile I’ve been working on Sue Spargo’s “Earth and Twig” Block of the Month too.
A little more applique is needed on block 2 and some more embellishment on both of these but I’m keeping up. Woohoo!
I finished this Log Cabin quilt 10 days ago for my blog pal Lizzie from “A House in the Country”. There’s a story to this, the last of our Bee Balm quilts for last year and I’m thrilled that it is safely in Lizzie’s hands and that she loves it. The blocks were made by the Bee members especially for Lizzie in the colours she chose. It was easy to pop them all together as a surprise.
I’m so glad my enthusiasm for quilting is back. My pile of UFOs is enormous but it’s my ambition to whittle it away this year.
Wish me luck!
