Good Grief

Two months have passed since I last posted here and such a lot has happened.
Not so much to write about though, just life in general, adjusting to caring for two of our grandies for the Summer, running the end of year function at the local quilt guild, all the requirements to be prepared for Christmas....especially with children in the house......constant chattering, helping little hands, nothing happens quickly and a moment to myself is so appreciated.
I love being part of their lives though and wouldn't change a thing... Except add a few extra hours in the day.

We spent Chistmas "Down South" at our daughter's and enjoyed a typical Aussie Christmas day with the big kids playing sport with the little ones followed by a picnic on the boat cruising the canals to admire the lights. So relaxing.

This weekend we had visitors. Cathy Miller, the Singing Quilter came to see us along with her husband John Bunge and they put on a fabulous House Concert for us and a pile of our friends.
We so enjoyed their company, hearing stories about Cathy's quilts, living in Canada, travels around the world, living in Darwin, meeting quilters from everywhere..
We shared with them.......swimming at our favourite beach, brekky at the Cafe, lots of new friends, our Grandies and our home.....I hope they come back again. Not so easy as they live in Victoria, Canada but we've promised to catch up one day.
Beautiful quilts to see as we listened and a Sundowner to follow, a glass of wine, crackers and cheese and great company.

Tonight, New Year's Eve, I've been sewing!
I belong to The Bee Balm and we all had a wonky house block to make for Janet. Well I did leave it to the last minute but it's finished and ready to post off across the world.

I had to wait until Miss 5 was in bed because she has a new toy sewing machine (thank you Santa) and she was determined to HELP!
I guess tomorrow I'll be doing some dolly sewing with her.

Hi Sue,
Sounds like lots of fun you are having over the summer. Always great having young children around you, they are funny little creatures. Hope the new year brings you much joy and happiness.
