A Day at the Races

What fun we had today at the local "Country Races". A once a year event always held on Easter Saturday. The town fills up with tourists and everyone turns out in a variety of gear to cheer on the horses, have a few drinks, lose a few dollars and generally have a good time. This year I couldn't pick a winner but as I only bet $2 at a time I didn't have any hope of winning or losing a lot so it didn't matter much.

The "Fashions on the Field" event always attracts the girls. The girls always attract the boys. I don't think it was the hats these boys were admiring either.
At the end of the afternoon as the sun is getting low in the sky and tired horses wait to go home to their stables we too trailed home to count our losses.

Sue, I loved reading about your local race meet. I saw on the nes last night one of the female jockeys had a bit of a fall.
