Tag rugs

I've been wanting to make a few of these for a while now. Well time has run out and I need a baby gift quick!
Babies love the texture of the little ribbon tags and they are so quick and simple to make.
This one is about 12" square, made of 2 pieces of soft, cuddly fabric and 20 tags of folded ribbon. All types and textures but nothing too scratchy or narrow enough to cut into little fingers.

Keep the tags fairly short so bub doesn't suck them too far in!
I'm going to add another row of top stitching around the edge just to be sure the ribbons don't pull loose.
Half an hour and some scraps to have this. That's quicker than going shopping.

You answered my question before I asked. I really worry that babe will catch their fingers!!

Hi Sue!

Thank you so much for posting pictures. I have heard of them -but kept wondering what they would be like!
