Tuesday Treasure #1

A soap stone horse, Not particularly old, about 38 years, nor very valuable, only a few $$. It's not in mint condition, having been broken and glued back together but this little horse symbolises my lifelong love of horses, the beginning of a devotion to collecting beautiful and quirky things, the celebration of a time spent living overseas with the bloke and our young, not yet complete family and the joy of buying a rare treat for myself........something that's not quite so rare these days, luckily!
When I signed up for Tuesday Treasures with Clare's Craftroom,  I didn't realise how hard it would be to look past all the obvious treasures of family, home and valuables and settle on one small thing with meaning.
This is a case of bearing my soul and it's even made me a little misty eyed, big wuss that I am.

It makes you realise that the small and simple things are most precious and valuable in life.

Your soap stone horse is just lovely Sue. I didn't realise how wonderful it would be to have our memories come back to us in the most simple things. It really makes you stop and start looking around you more closely!

A lovely look at life and what we treasure.

I had to have a little laught to myself about your post "Cat on a hot tin roof" Ian and I went for a walk down town on the weekend and a cat was curled up on the roof of the NAB building amongst the leaf litter, he looked dead until we saw him breathing. They know the best spot don't they?
Stay warm.
