An Epiphany

 The Patch held a workshop last weekend and if anyone needed to learn more about quilting, it's me.
I rush things, don't listen, cut corners and generally wreck fabric.

I really, really love free motion quilting but I'm too impatient to do things properly.
This workshop was great for me. I was told by the lovely tutor to go slowly and think before I stitch!
You'd think after 57 years, 7 months and a handful of days on this earth I'd have learnt that before, passed the tip onto my children and generally got it together by now. Uh uh! No way!

Now I've seen the light.

Introducing...my first ever feathers, almost straight lines, nearly round circles.....swirls that are close to meeting each other.

I think I can do this, certainly a bit  lot more practise is needed but if you'd seen what I did before you'd agree this is Improvement with a capital I.

Please try to ignore the wonkiness and the tangles, the loose threads and the jerkiness and let me bask in my hopes for even better things to come.
