Chapter 5 - The old crone gathers .....................

...............the women around her and tells them in a hushed voice what must be done to make the magic happen. The excited women promise to carry her instructions through that very night.

So that evening when the moon has risen into a brightly starlit sky and the crisp air has all the little creatures snuggling into their nests and burrows, the townswomen take their cloth out into the forest and spread it across the biggest berry bush. Standing in a circle and holding hands they gaze upward at the beautiful stars twinkling high above them and they see the magic of the night.

The whole town sleeps soundly through the night and as dawn breaks the women begin to rise. They join together with excitement chattering and laughing as they make their way back to the forest.
Drawing nearer, a wonderful melody drifts through the trees and  they see a shimmering glow of light surrounding the berry bush.
Excitedly they rush forward to find the stitches scattered with stars and dewdrops all sparkling and magnificent before them.
"How wonderous" the say as they admire the twinkling jewels."Magic has happened"

The wise old sage laughs from
her hiding place in the tree tops and whispers into the wind, barely loud enough for the sharpest ears to hear her. "If you do this again tonight and tomorrow night and the next night, soon your cloth will be filled with stars and dewdrops" she tells them "Then you will know the real magic"............and the women did!
"Patience and perseverence makes magic happen"
THE END
