Tuesday Treasure

Oh my! It's Tuesday again already and I don't know where the days have gone.
My treasure today is Christmas........partly because I love Christmas time with all the decorations, family, carol singing, feasting and pressies...................and partly because I've been super busy lately and bookclub was at my house last night.
"What's that got to do with things?" Well you may ask!
I decided it would be great to do a little Christmas in July theme. If you live in the northern hemisphere, this is what mad Aussies do when December is too hot to indulge in plum pud!
So I pulled out all the boxes of decorations to select just a few rather a lot with which to adorn the table, sideboard, windowsill, dresser, mantle.......usually it takes me a two weeks to put up all my decorations.
I made mulled wine, fruit cake, shortbread, a platter of cheese and crackers with red and green cruditee, lit the fire and lots of candles.
The bookclubbers came and enjoyed, we discussed the book "The Great Gatsby" and then they went home again.
Now my house is looking very festive, the bloke has flown back up north to work, it's dinner time and I'm home alone, drowning my sorrows with blogging, a glass of warmed spicy wine and a huge wedge of ginger shortbread.

I treasure Christmas time enough to do it twice a year.
