It's been a bit frantic at Charlotte's Cottage the last few weeks months as I've been finishing off quilts for the big show in town on Sunday. This morning I was up at 5.30 washing the last quilt to be completed. The binding was finished late last night and I still need to attach the temporary hanging sleeve with a quick running stitch.
It took 3 years to do it.
I had so much trouble with this.
It's been quilted three times!
I just couldn't get it flat on my quilting frame.
My gorgeous daughter in law Mish, saved my sanity by carting it home to unpick the second attempt at quilting, all 4.8 square metres of it!
After unpicking it once I was ready to give up when the second lot of quilting was just as bad as the first.
Eventually the problem was solved by using triple the quantity of pins and lots of straight stitching with the walking foot first. Once it was tamed into managable sections and I had a re-think on how it was to be quilted, progress was made.
I hope Corey appreciates it, he asked for a "brown" quilt but that was a long time ago. He's probably forgotten by now.
A few weeks ago I posted about the first flower on this tree. Well look at it now..............and more buds are opening everyday.

I like that Sue, well done for perservering with it, I'm sure I would have thrown it in a corner..! I wish I was there to see the quilts at the Priory but I'm planning for 2013, I'm coming then for sure..

It was well worth the trouble, because it turned out beautifully!

It turned out so beautiful after all of the effort. There are some projects that one never wants to see again after so much trouble. I know it will be well loved.
