Wintery pastimes

It's been cold and wintery lately,
I know people who live in snowy climes laugh when I say that.
It's been cold enough to snuggle by the fire and finish small quilts made with ugly fabric.
I'm really pleased with how this little tree turned out. Not so ugly after all.

I chose to make it into a quilt because I really liked the backing
and a cushion would have put this bit inside.
Winter is Pony Club season too and this brought back memories of cold winter mornings when I was the one loading the pony into the float for the "horse mad" daughter

Now it's that daughter's turn to do it for her daughter.
Don't you love the way payback comes.
Only the little ones are riding today and this big fella is wondering why he can't go too.

I read somewhere once that if you cut the fabric small enough, any fabric can be beautiful.

Ir is such fun to see your own kids deal with the same issues we did.

Great looking quilt! It is kind of nice to set back and watch our kiddo's do the same things with their kids that we did with them :)

I love your fireplace! I miss having one. That little tree turned out so darling, Sue, good job and I love the back. Great pics of your daughter and her daughter, with their beautiful horses!

-1 here tonight, frosty and crisp. definite fire and snuggle weather. I love the 'what goes around' thing, especially when the one that used to lie on the floor and kick her legs in a fit of temper got one that did the exact same thing...hehehe!!

Your "Ugly Fabric" sure does look lovely now.
My is still in the bag.
Oh don't need the fire now. Not since Derby. Have the fan on.

I think the quilt turned out nice, the fabric doesn't look ugly at all.
I try to explain to people here that cool and wet can feel very cold, but they don't get it.
