After a lifetime of being an "Armchair Traveller" you sort of know what youd like to see in the world.
San Francisco has always appealed to me, .........i just knew i'd love it here.
Sea lions lazing near the Pier.Majestic Civic buildings.Journeys over icons.
Amazing architecture to please my eye.interesting doorways that must tell stories.Huge Redwoods that huddle in their family circle.Peaceful bays.Another view of that iconic bridge.A row of beautiful ladies.
A tiny bit of shopping, the camera connecter lets me use the little point and shoot to "snap"and then blog, the US flag cushion cover came from Potterybarn and will be a comfy reminder at home when next I do some "Armchair Travelling" and the 4 tiny little stones, signed by the artist, were absolutely worth the king's ransom they cost.
Then we found this place not five minutes walk from our hotel, I had never heard about the Palace of Fine Arts before but it stole my heart anyway
Tomorrow we leave this wonderful place for the long train trip to New Orleans.
Woohoo! Hold onto your hats friends.

Howdy Sue (we say that in Arizona),
I'm Jan, wife of Chuck, who's visiting with you on the train. Love your San Fran. photos...one of my favorite places in the world. Enjoy the rest of your visit to the States.
Hi Jan, you didn't leave an email address and I can't reply.
Hello Sue,
