Louisiana is green and moist, the people are friendly, the sights amazing.
My bloke and I have just spent 3 full days with the most wonderful people.
Beebee and i have been blog friends for a few years now, since we both belonged to The Bee Balm and when she heard we were coming her way, Beebee and her bloke Francis invited us to visit.
Well two quilters and their blokes can get a lot done in a few days!
And I don't mean sewing!
Beautiful gardens....huge trees At Houmas House.
Amazing historyWater everywhere The biggest sugar bowls I've ever seen. Music and swamps......(hear the Cajun Man, Black Guidry sing on Youtube) Music and food, Beignets are delicious.....warm and sweet with hardly a calorie to see.Coffee, coffee and more coffee. In a city where everyone is French Catholic......well almost! Mardi Gras colour and the mighty Mississippi meet Alligators wear cowboy bootsAnd music is everywhere.
Everyone likes to cook........and eat!
This class was more history lesson than cooking, fabulously entertaining. And everything is interesting to this ol' tourist.Soon we will be heading North.
