Raggy Rug-A-Long

Thanks to Jodie at Ric Rac I'm making a floor rug.
Jodie is full of inspiration and I hadn't made one of these since the '70s so I took up her challenge.
I've plaited a long length of torn fabric strips and now I'm stitching it into a circle.
Otto, the WonderCat, thinks it's for him....
and maybe he's right.
He won't mind the wonkiness and knots much.

I have made the ones that you crochet . I made several for Christmas one year. I started out making the oval ones & then did a "froggie" one that was cute , but my favorite was the butterfly ones-they won my heart.

My main grievance with them is that they are kinda thick & want to trip on them.

What about this way? Are you hand sewing them together or can you use the machine?

I actually have played recently with a similar idea. I have knit scraps -I sewed them into tubes & then tried to zigzag them into a circle. So far I ended up with a coaster - lol

I LOVE rugs , but they are so expensive

Hello Sue,

Good luck with your rag rug. Your photo reminds me of when the children were younger and learning to crochet.
Happy days.
