Stitchin' my heart away

A couple of weeks ago, prior to my trip to Broome with the bloke,
I had a few days at "Calico and Ivy" in Perth with the talented and sharing Sue Spargo.
I've been stalking Sue for about 3 years now, following her blog, facebook page, website and  newsletters, buying her books, patterns,
doing her latest BoM "Earth and Twig"
You know! Just stalking her every chance I could get.
How could I miss the chance to meet her in person?
I spent 3 days in workshops with this creative woman,
her quilts are even better in real life,
the colours and details just cannot be captured on even the best cameras.

I'm nowhere near as good at stitchery as she is, I'm slower and clumsier,
but with folk art it doesn't really matter.
Stitching wool onto wool is as easy as slicing hot butter,
the wonkiest stitches blend in cosily.
I'm not even ashamed to photograph my work right up close to show you.
Now what will I do with my colourful little panels when they are done?

I just did Sue's workshop at Material Obsession in Sydney. Her work was just amazing. I hope my bird quilt looks as good as hers!
